This Is The Day The Lord Has Made

“This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it” Psalm 118:24

Start your day with God’s joy in your heart.

What exactly is God’s joy?

God’s Joy is not the type of joy people would normally associate with the word, such as happiness, delight, enjoyment or cheerfulness. It is the inner joy that only comes from knowing God.

{ Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God.― Pierre Teilhard de Chardin}

Each day is a gift from God. Every morning when we wake up, we have a clean slate, a brand new day awaits us – a day that is filled with the presence of God. How exciting is that?

God’s presence is all around us. We see God in the birds singing as the sun rises, the sound of children playing on a warm summer afternoon, in the smile of a friend, memories that warm our hearts and the colorful sunset on the horizon. All we need to do to experience God’s Joy is slow down, be still and watch in wonder as God reveals His presence to us.

So let us rejoice today and be glad as we experience the presence of God today and every day in our life.

  1. As you shared Patty……”God’s Joy is not the type of joy people would normally associate with the word, such as happiness, delight, enjoyment or cheerfulness. It is the inner joy that only comes from knowing God”…..

This is very True Patty and God does not expect us to be Happy Clappy when we suffer or grieve and to wear a mask to hide our real feelings or to feel we can’t share our burdens or even cry but we can rejoice as you shared that God is with us every day as confirmed in the Scriptures below too, He gives us strength to endure and inner Joy to rejoice and be Thankful even though we may cry and as we can also see in the Scriptures below, we are to show real compassion to those who are hurting and not just push them away with claims they are not walking with the Lord or even worse.

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Romans 12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

I just Posted about this Truth Patty but I also have another link that is about wearing masks which I will leave for you, I received the message by e-mail a few years ago and Posted it, I can relate to it’s Truth because I use to wear a mask too, many do.

    Christian Love Always – Anne.

  2. I just read your article on being Happy Clappy – so true. It is time for us to remove our masks of perfection and display our true selves and how God works in us. Hugs dear Anne!

    1. Wow Patty, I was indeed rejoicing today! no I didn’t win at Monopoly, I received a beautiful Heart Card and Post Cards from a very dear friend and now I know and don’t have to just imagine were you live, Beautiful, I’m packing, put the Jug on I’ll bring the Cake, Thank you so much, it was a wonderful surprise and made my day very Special.

As you shared Patty, pretending Perfection is worldly and of the Carnal flesh, we need to aim for Perfection in Love as God asks us to do and when we have His Love we have True compassion and understanding, we feel the pain of others the same as God does and The Holy Spirit sheds our tears for them as Jesus holds them in our arms, close to His heart.

Thank you for your Prayers Patty and Thank you for your heart of Love shown in Actions.

      Blessings – Anne (((HUGS)))

      1. How terrific to know you are on your way!! 🙂 the tea will always be on for you. You are what we call “Back door friends” meaning you never need an invitation and you just walk in the back door into the kitchen.

Very blessed weekend in many ways – I pray you also had a weekend blessed by God.

Good night from the great state of Pennsylvania!
