Early Autumn Leaves

Early Autumn Leaves
Once so green and vibrant
Offering shade, cooling and comforting
Colors of green now red, gold, orange and russet
Creating a swirling masterpiece of color
Raining down on us in the brisk Autumn breeze  {Patty Beggs 2012}

  1. You took me home again with this! My, I miss my mountains…

  2. What a beautiful poem. And your photos are visually stunning!

  3. Yes, I love the photos. We aren’t sure if we’ll have color this year or not. Our summer was so hot and dry and now it’s predicted the winter will be mild. We didn’t get coats out last year–seemed strange. How can you be in the Ozarks and not have fall color?

    I love the picture of the leaves on the deck. I never would have thought to take a picture of a deck with a few leaves on it–yet it works wonderfully. It so aptly shows the first signs of autumn as the first leaves begin to fall.

    These pictures are beautiful and a lovely reminder that we’re transitioning into a new season. In California the changes in weather don’t always give us an accurate picture! 😉 You know what else I love about the fall?…October baseball! Go Giants!!!! 😉

    With love in Christ,

  9. I love the Autumn colours and smells and I love your poem. We were in Colorado last Autumn and the colours were just amazing, so vibrant and even lovelier than in Britain where the colours are beautiful but quite muted. 🙂

    • Never been to Colorado but I heard the trees there put on a wonderful show! This is my favorite time of year, most people see an ending as things “die” away I see new life in the colorful leaves and in the anticipation of nature growing in the little pods on the branches waiting for spring to bloom. More pictures are coming!.

  10. Autumn is such a lovely time of year I prefer the in between seasons myself maybe it is because I was born in Spring…………….
