Lake Raystown, PA

Last weekend, my husband and I were able to get away for the weekend.  We have been on the roller coaster of life for the past few years. There were many going up and downs and so many flips!  To keep balance in our lives we try to get away by ourselves, normally in the spring and fall, our favorite seasons.

We keep the trips close to home and read, go for walks, sit on the deck or balcony, visit antique and craft shops, attend local festivals and just plain do nothing, leaving all of our troubles behind us.

So this year our spring turned into a summer trip and we decided to go to Lake Raystown about 2 hours from where we live.  It turned out to be quite a lovely weekend.  A bit hot, but then it is the end of June, but a nice sunny and breezy day, all the while we enjoyed the leisurely pace of a summer’s day.

Here are some of our pictures of the lake – I hope you enjoy them.

The pictures are wonderful. The lake looks like the perfect spot to be on these hot summer days.

Loved this post especially how you and your husband take-off just to savor and enjoy the bounties of life.

    With kind regards.

    • After 32 yrs of marriage we have learned to savor all the little things God blessed us with. For a few years we had “staycations” and instead of going away we enjoyed the solitude and beauty of our own backyard and the area in which we live.
